Create multiple-choice questions with AI
AI can produce questions quickly. What makes them useful for studying is a clear learning objective and an answer you can justify using your notes.
Create questions with AIWhat you can configure in WayOfLearning
Generation starts with the text in your documents. You can adjust the number of questions, answer options and difficulty in the quiz settings. You need your own Gemini or OpenAI key in AI Settings; check your provider’s terms and quota.
The application asks the AI for references to the source text. A quotation or page number helps you check an answer; it does not certify that the answer is correct.
How to recognise a well-constructed question
- Specific wording: you understand what is being asked without guessing the intention.
- A supported answer: you can find the justification in the material.
- Plausible distractors: incorrect options represent real misunderstandings.
- A consistent format: single-answer and multiple-answer questions are clearly distinguished.
- A useful explanation: it helps correct your reasoning, rather than merely giving you a letter.
From a superficial question to a meaningful distinction
A poor exercise asks “What is this chapter about?” and offers three absurd options. A better one presents two closely related concepts and asks for the difference described in your notes.
If you are studying research designs, use a brief scenario to distinguish follow-up over time from measurement at a single point. When checking the answer, identify the decisive detail. This tests application of the definition instead of verbatim recall.
Can you use it to create exams?
You can prepare practice quizzes and mock exams. For a formal assessment, the teacher must review accuracy, difficulty, coverage and conditions of use. A generated quiz is not an official exam and does not necessarily reflect your teacher’s criteria.
Before generating more questions, review those you already have. If ten exercises repeat the same fact, adding twenty more does not solve the lack of coverage.
