Create quizzes from your notes with AI

Your notes can become questions that help you check what you remember. In WayOfLearning you can work with your own PDFs, generate an AI quiz and use it in study sessions.

Create my quiz

From your notes to a practice session

  1. Prepare a topic. If your notes are in another format, export them to PDF and check that you can select the text.
  2. Open the application. Organise your material by subject and select the document you want to work on.
  3. Set up AI. Generation requires your own Gemini or OpenAI key in AI Settings. Availability and any charges depend on your provider.
  4. Generate and review. Choose your quiz settings and check the answers against the document before adding them to your revision.
  5. Answer without looking. Review your mistakes and try again in a later session.

What it adds to rereading

When you reread, the answer is right in front of you. Answering a question checks whether you can retrieve it or distinguish it from similar alternatives. Rereading is still useful for understanding a section or filling a gap; a quiz adds a check that reading alone does not provide.

To avoid memorising the position of an answer, explain why you reject each alternative. If you answer correctly by intuition but cannot justify it, keep that question for review.

Example: a section of Physiology

Suppose your notes compare simple diffusion with active transport. A useful question asks which mechanism requires energy, rather than asking you to recognise the section title. After answering, find the sentence that supports the answer and explain what information would have made another option correct.

Start with a small batch. If the questions are vague or focus on a single paragraph, divide the document by learning objectives and check the coverage again.

Before you start

Can I use notes from any degree?

Yes: the workflow starts with your materials. Quality depends on their clarity and on reviewing the questions; complete exam coverage is not guaranteed.

Is AI always right?

No. It may misinterpret a sentence or suggest an answer without sufficient support. Check each important question against your reference material.

Do I need AI for everything?

No. You can also create and edit questions in the manual question bank and reuse them in sessions.
